Color-Replacement-Brush and Overlay-Erase-Tool ist bad

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody,

the Color-Replacement-Brush, has a very bad pervonanze and is therefore useless.
see clip below.

furthermore isin the Develop Persona the Overlay Eraser Tool is faulty,
already reported some time ago.
(the same applies Tone-Mapping-Persona, similar behavior as in Devolop Persona)

I do not know how the bug fixing is prioritized, but I do not give up hope that the bugs will be fixes soon.

(same bugs in the customer version)

Cheers

In small dimensions 1500x1000 i have no slow effect. In 5000x3500 - it a bit appearing. 7500x5000 - significantly drop in speed. BUT in not simple depends on dimension - but on the brush size. As with greater dimensions i adjust the brush size also. I feel slow at 1000 px appr.

I think  @Manofjesus is right with his assumption, that the slow effect through the brush size is caused.

it's a bug for me
This should be investigated by the developers.

Cheers

I think the tool in the example isn't being used how you would normally use it. Isn't it used for touching up small areas? When I do it for touching up, I have no issue at all with a 600px brush on a 7500 px x 5000 px document.

If I scribble all over the canvas it does get slow. This is also slow on macOS with Metal Compute.

I've also tried Photoshop and I can easily get that to slow down dramatically using the same size brush and canvas.

I don't think this is a bug so much as pushing the app to its limit for a case that isn't really realistic.

hm, really strange that some have no problems.
Even after a new installation, I still have this problem in the current beta but not in the customer version anymore.
Maybe the problem will be solve by itself in the next Beta. .

Update
the Color-Replacement-Brush works again as it should.:)
I have all files from the folder User-AppData-Roaming-Affinity-Photo-1.0 (Beta),
first secured and then all deleted.
Then I restored the files in the Profiles-Settings-User-Workspaces folders from the backup folder step by step.
I have no idea which file has caused the problem.

Thanks to everyone for the answers and tips.

Cheers
