eejits
Hey guys, Just wondering how do I make nodes sharper when they are at acute angles? They seem very rounded to me (see attached pic: the end of the lip passed the tooth) . I've tried adjust the mitre but to no effect. Any clues? Staff MEB Posted September 4, 2014 Staff Share Posted September 4, 2014 Give the Miter a bigger value. The more acute the angle is, the bigger the value you must give to the Miter. Staff MattP Posted September 5, 2014 Staff Share Posted September 5, 2014 Ah... your line has pressure doesn't it? This may be the key - I think I might've forgotten about something so leave it with me, sorry
eejits
My lines normally do (and this one does). Does that mean that the mitre control doesn't work? I've only footered around with the mitre control altering it from it's base value to about 5. Maybe it needs more..... +20. I'll play about with it. Would it be better to put the Mitre Control on a slider? Do people need such an accurate control over this setting (I don't know as I'm only scratching the surface of this program)? Staff Dave Harris Posted September 5, 2014 Staff Share Posted September 5, 2014 Are your line joins set to Miter (the third button)? The Miter limit only affects lines with Mitre joins. It ought to be disabled for non-Miter joins.

eejits
Yes! Exactly what I want. So how'd you do that? What did you set the mitre to? Staff MattP Posted September 5, 2014 Staff Share Posted September 5, 2014 Just set it to Miter join type and choose maybe 10 as your limit. At present, the bigger you set it, the more wasteful it is when it's redrawing - it won't be wasteful at some future point, but right now it's in and working... and still faster than anyone else ;)
Staff Dave Harris Posted September 5, 2014 Staff Share Posted September 5, 2014 In the next beta, changing the Miter limit will force the line join to Miter, so you can see the effect.
eejits
Yup. Things work nicely when I actually use the correct options!! Set the mitre to 8 and it looks just like I want it. Would be nice to have slider & live preview instead if inputting a number but it works. Thanks guys!
