kimtorch Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 We produce several hundred pages each week of the same size with the same columns (newspaper pages). I've made a custom sized page and created a preset but I can't see any way of applying column guides to the preset. Am I missing something or can you not have column guides on a custom page (preset)? walt.farrell Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 Guides are something you add to a page, not a property of a preset. Presets don't have anything except a page size, color space, margins, and other items related to the physical aspects of the document. When Publisher 1.8 becomes available it will have a template feature, which will let you save a pre-formatted document as a template for reuse, and select that template when you're creating a new document. That is perhaps what you're looking for. Until then, you might consider saving one of your empty documents somewhere, marking it Read-Only (Windows, Mac) or as a template (Mac), and instead of using File > New and picking your preset you can use File > Open, choose your presaved file, and then Save As under a new name. Then do your work on it.
