Exported PNG not transparent

Recommended Posts

Hello, so this is a problem I'm having trying to upload a transparent image to my blogger page. I have read the other forum posts but none of them seemed to fix my problem.

I've done the following to the image:

-separated the image from the white background with the selection tool: it is on one layer.

-I have "transparent background" turned on

-I exported the image as a PNG, bilinear, and area marked as "selection without background".

Yet this is what I get on my blog:Capture.thumb.JPG.6ca2db6961f1a5cefacbe66fef265f34.JPG

I'm at a loss to what I need to do to make it transparent. If needed I uploaded the affinity file in question.

Your document background is white and not transparent.

  1. Make a new doc (484 x 589 px sized) and check the "[x] Transparent background" check box there on the panel for that document.
  2. Open your 1.aphoto file and copy/paste the layer from there over to the new document.
  3. Save your new doc and export as PNG.

Eh! O.o

In the 1.afphoto doc just go to Document > Transparent background then export again.

His drawing layer doesn't contain any white, so that does nothing in his case. His problem in this case is more the initial white doc background - Instead what firstdefense mentioned is a quicker way of performing what the OP here needs for fixing. I showed instead the way from ground up.

The document's colour format is RGB/16 - when outputted to PNG there are 16bit layers

If his blog does not support 16bit layer PNGs it may be flattening the image which will give a white background to it.

Converting the colour format to RGB/8 (prior to exporting) would be the solution if this is the case

@Pšenda Did you downloaded his 1.aphoto file and looked into it?

No there is no reason, perhaps OP knows what he writes.
This is also because the OP does not say anything about the source of his picture - where he made the selection.

I apologize, I had the "transparent background" turned off right before I shared the document. I looked into the problem and apparently blogger doesn't take .pngs that well. I've hosted the image on another site and the white did not show up. I'll find another way or just deal I suppose. Thank you all for your help!
