Jangbu
In AFP when I go to File➞Open➞Pictures, the Apple Photo library and Aperture library are greyed-out and inaccessible. Likewise, when I export from the Export Persona, the Photo and Aperture libraries are greyed-out and inaccessible. However, if I go to View➞Media Browser, the contents of both libraries are viewable and can be imported to the AFP workspace by either dragging or double clicking on an individual photo file. Is this how it's supposed to work or is it a bug in the program or between my ears? It would be faster and more elegant to export directly to either of the aforementioned libraries rather than exporting to the desktop and then importing from the host application. steveinla
I have the same question. I can open files from iCloud Photos Library, as they appear under "Media", but I don't see "Photos" when I want to export. I can use the Share extension to send a file to iCloud Photos Library, but it downsizes the file and it can't be the "right" way to do this. Given the importance of iCloud Photos Library, there should be a direct way to do this.
My Strawberry Monkey
That is the way the libraries of photos/Aperture works, you cant export from any app in to the library. In Affinity Photo you can go to the File menu and choose share and choose to add a picture to either Photos or Aperture. No need to export. If using Aperture to store your pictures you can choose Affinity Photo as your external editor and as you right click on a pic in Aperture you can choose to edit with Affinity Photo and once done editing and you press save it will save back to aperture. Jangbu
Thank you for your helpful suggestions Allan. Choosing Affinity Photo as the Aperture external editor works well with the exception that the Aperture export preferences panel does not include RAW as an external editor file format (only TIFF and PSD). steveinla
Yes, thanks Alan. Share does work, but it reduced the jpg file size by about 75%. I don't see a setting (as exists in Export) to maintain the full file size.
