ronnyb
Hey guys, congrats again for the awesome launch of Affinity Photo! I had this idea: it would be great if filters and commands (such as Straighten / Rotate while Cropping) had a checkbox enabling an "Inpainting" option to fill in the newly blank pixel areas with Affinity's awesome Inpainting algorithm... Thanks for considering this, I think it would be a very handy option. Cheers! billtils
Interesting architecture! Did you try using the clone tool? Retina iMac (4K display, 1TB SSD, 16GB RAM) OS X 10.11.6 Capture One 10.
manu schwendener
> Interesting architecture! Yes, they are amazing (Aarhus, Denmark): http://www.dezeen.com/2013/01/15/isbjerget-housing-by-jds-architects-cebra-search-and-louis-paillard > Did you try using the clone tool? Now I did. While I can fill the empty edges with it it doesn't look good at all. --- Edit: I just tried the inpainting brush again and now it works on the "empty" parts of the picture :-) This fixes the sky, but ronnyb's idea of an inpainting option _during_ straighteing would also take care of the fence. manuschwendener.ch
billtils
Yes, the sky is easy but the fence is a challenge! I was happiest with the clone tool, but that may be because I'm used to it; inpainting did not work at all well on the fence, but the healing brush was as good as cloning (and easier). But still a challenge ... Retina iMac (4K display, 1TB SSD, 16GB RAM) OS X 10.11.6 Capture One 10.
manu schwendener
Will try healing brush for the fence tonight, thanks. manuschwendener.ch
manu schwendener
(Found out by now that the Mesh Warp Tool works better than straightening.) ronnyb 1 manuschwendener.ch
manu schwendener
Update: turns out my main problem with straightening can be fixed by changing a setting in preferences: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/12954-image-rotation-bug-in-displayed-project/?p=56793 manuschwendener.ch
