Hey All,

I have been using Affinity Photo since last year and I absolutely love it! I do very light photo editing for web development pictures and such, so I am still learning!

When it was released to the apple store, I bought it right away and have recommended it to many of my friends and fellow entrepreneurs!

My question is;

1. How do we make gif images using this tool? Such as, pictures that animate....

2. Aside from having vector based files, how does the designer differ? Is it more complex to use and learn? Do we get a discount if we already have Photo?

Thanks so much!

Hi dilyar,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

Currently we don't support animated GIFs.

Affinity Designer is a vector application similar to Adobe Illustrator / Coreldraw / Inkscape etc. It's geared towards graphic design, illustration, UI/UX design etc rather than image development(/editing/compositing. If you take a look at the Share your work section you will find plenty of examples created by Affinity users. Here's a quick overview of what's capable.

I don't think it's more complex to learn, just different since the tools and workflows are also different. There's a trial available on our site if you're willing to give it a try.
