Windows GPU hardware acceleration

Recommended Posts

This sort of thing has been requested many times and there has been talk in the forums (from official sources) that it might be coming at some point in the future but no time-frame has been given (to us, the users) and it’s not clear that it will ever happen. (It probably will if they can get it working well but don’t bet your life savings on it.)
Even if it does happen I have a feeling that only certain GPUs (or GPU families) will be supported because of the amount of work that would be needed to support every possible different GPU. (It’s apparently easier to support this in Macs as they only use a small range of GPUs compared to what’s available for Windows PCs.) So, even if it happens you might not have the ‘correct’ GPU.
Bottom line: Maybe, but you’ll have to wait and see and there have been no promises.
