JeffreyWalther
If you develop a raw file and also use a development gradient/paint layer for additional raw adjustments, they won't accept any presets even if the layer is active. A preset will overwrite the main development layer. walt.farrell
There are no layers in the Develop Persona. There are Overlays, which are a kind of Mask, to which some kinds of adjustments can be applied (as explained in that Help page). You create the Overlay, and select it in the Overlays panel. Then when you use the Basic adjustments their effects are isolated to the overlay area you created. The other kinds of adjustments are disabled while you have an Overlay (other than Master) selected, as they are supposed to be. If you select Master, you are no longer dealing with the Overlay area, and all adjustments are possible, but they apply to Master, as you specified. Sorry, I don't see a bug here, though you could make a feature request to ask that the other adjustments be made available to Overlays. JeffreyWalther
Call it whatever you want. If you have an "overlay" selected and choose a preset from the list, you only affect the master overlay and this should not be the case! If the preset is only applicable on master overlays, the presets should be grayed out and disabled when any other than the master overlay is currently active! Thank you for the additional detail. I see what you mean, and I agree that changing to a different Preset while one has an Overlay selected should not affect the Master Overlay as it does. Good catch. I hope Serif agrees that it's a bug Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. iPad: iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 17.4.1, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sonoma 14.4.
Staff Gabe Posted December 4, 2019 Staff Share Posted December 4, 2019 Hi both, This is indeed a bug. Presets should be applying to the current overlay, and not to the "Master" overlay. I logged it with our developers. walt.farrell and JeffreyWalther
