Membership Cards with Photo ID

Recommended Posts

In Affinity Publisher you can create a master card with an empty picture frame. Then you can use this picture frame on the document pages and fill the frame with images, e.g. via drag/drop form Finder/Explorer.

It's up to you whether you set the document's page size to the size of 1 card – or to a page with multiple cards. If multiple it's useful to create the multiple cards on the master page already.

A future version of Publisher will enable data merge, which allows auto-import of such images once a master gets defined.

I don't know if this ever could be useful for anything.

Let's say you have a .docx file with many small images of the same size inserted into the word document as characters. Prepare a Publisher document with text frames as placeholder for the images and link them. Now place the .docx somewhere in Publisher and link this text frame with the first text frame that should contain the first image. Now delete the text frame with the placed .docx and voila - all images float into their text frames. ;)

Sorry, not helpful here, just to show what is possible as well.
