jackamus
Having created this spring using 'Expand stroke' is there anyway to reverse it so I can easily edit it? evtonic3
I would chop it up and just use one path and change it. Don't think you can do what you want in the app. Not that I know of.
jackamus
Not sure what you mean! Can you do it to this file? Quote If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed! Staff MEB Posted July 10, 2015 Staff Share Posted July 10, 2015 Hi jackamus, Break you shape (the nodes) at the ends and delete one of the outlines. It's not exactly as you started but there's no way to revert it to the original other than doing Undo. If you aren't saving the History (of changes) with your files there's no way to recover it after you saved and closed the file. Here's the file (i've kept all lines - just delete the ones you don't want on the copy i placed below): SpringMEB.afdesign Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference
jackamus
Thanks MEB but the problem will be coping with all those nodes when editing. I want to pull the vertical end of the spring (at the bottom) round to the left another 90 degrees. Quote If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed! Staff MEB Posted July 10, 2015 Staff Share Posted July 10, 2015 Then it's probably quicker to recreate the spring with the Pen Tool again using what you already have has a reference to place the nodes. The Expand Stroke command will be improved to avoid creating superfluous nodes. JimGoshorn
@MEB - I know some form of simplify has been mentioned before to remove extra and redundant anchors, just curious if you know if it made it to the revisions list.
Staff MEB Posted July 10, 2015 Staff Share Posted July 10, 2015 Hi Jim, There was some requests to have a way to control the fidelity of painted strokes and i know MattP will take a look at it when possible, but for simplifying paths generically speaking i don't have any info at this point.
