Using Curves or Levels on Masks

Recommended Posts

I would like to use curves or levels on a mask in the same way that I can blur a mask. I often use a color channel (or a luminosity mask) for masking, and I want to adjust its appearance and see the effect on the image as I use the levels or curves. Maybe you can include curves and levels in the filter list.

I'm new to Affinity Photo, and this is the only feature I miss from Photoshop.

I agree it's weird and pretty inconvenient.    My workaround is to use  pixel or embedded layer and "mask to bellow" it. Then you could edit it with it's own levels layer or turn blacks to alpha with "blend option/ranges" gear

Hi, this is already possible. You need to drag your curves layer over the mask, change where it says master to alpha on the curves layer. You can also use the in built curves adjustment mask to control things further.
