Changing Between 2 Colours

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Is there a easy way to changed the colour of the brush tool with out having to sleaze the colour each time. I use either black or white for a signature brush tool but have to keep going to the colour and changing it each time I want to use the other colour. Is there a hot key for this?

Thanks

Aaron

I do not understand "this is set up as a brush"

If it is text then select the letters using the text caret and use the colour panel (View > Studio > Colour) to change the colour of the selected text.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.2
Affinity Designer 2.3.1 | Affinity Photo 2.3.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.3.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

So i have got the above set up as a brush. So i can just drop this onto photos. I wanted to be able to change the text colour when using the brush but it dont work. I am getting around this as i have got one set up in black and one set up in white. Just wondered f there was a way to set it up with just one brush.

Hi AHARRIS22, there is a way to do this. You need to create a new intensity brush, choose the black brush png file, it doesn't work with white. Now you can choose the brush, set the size & pick any colour.

Also is there a way to change the colour of the black text. Again this is set up as a brush but the colour of the text doesn't change.

Is there some particular reason why you want to do this with a brush? Since all three Affinity apps now have an Assets panel, I think it would be better to create an asset that is a group of a text object layer for the text & either vector (best) or raster layer groups for the 3 company logos.

Do that & you can just drag the asset from the panel into your document. The text object layer can then be set to any color you want & you can even add 'decorations' via the Character panel, for example to outline each character with a contrasting stroke color so it stands out on any background.

All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V23.0 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7
Affinity Photo

I am a very basic Affinity Photo user so I have just gone with what I have found online about watermarks. Everything I have learnt I have thought myself. So when I find something i dont know how to do i have a look online and just go with what others have done. I am open to learning new things with the software as this will help me improve my photo editing etc.

This is something I will have to look into a try. Thank you for the suggestion. I will let you know how I get on.

I have just got round to setting up the assist in Affinity Photo. All working and looks like it will do the job. Next time I want to post some photos onto insta I will use the assets I have set up.

Thanks Again for the information.
