Graphic&Design
In this video I'm going to show you how a similar method to create curved text but using Affinity Photo and Designer. Enjoy it!! GarryP
AlainP
Thanks for this tutorial. You can do this without "Affinity Photo" using the "Text on Path" in Designer to achive the same results and more. And running only one app will not tax your computer CPU and memory. Graphic&Design
Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a try. I also published another tutorial on the same topic, but I'm using a different approach.
GarryP
That’s a nice technique which opens a lot of experimentation possibilities. Thanks for sharing. It’s worth saying that if the user already has Photo then the Mesh Warp Tool will do a similar thing much quicker. However, using your technique, the letter shapes are still editable and can thus be modified – using the Node/Corner/Point Transform Tools, etc. – while the Live Perspective Filter is in place which makes it easier to make adjustments later. Also, effects can be added to the lettering individually – as in my attached example where the corners of the letters have been rounded and a different shadow has been added to each letter, both after the text has been ‘warped’. If you do a new version of this video in the future it could perhaps be enhanced by showing this also. Roger C
Graphic&Design
Hi Garry, Thanks for your comment. Yes, if I found another way to get this effect done, I will create a tutorial. I always like to find new ways to create or use effects.
GarryP
You’re welcome. These forums are great for picking up tricks, tips and techniques. Anyone who uses the Affinity products but doesn’t visit regularly will be missing out on some good stuff.
