renate75
Hello, everybody, I've got another problem. It is a small thing, but it is an important project. When I export my file to PDF, the previously clear Emoji is totally pixelated. I've already changed the export settings, but it doesn't work. Thank you for your help! Staff Lee D Posted November 26, 2019 Staff Share Posted November 26, 2019 I've just exported your .afpub file and the Emoji seems ok, see the attached screenshot. On your system if you double click on the Smily layer does it open a large version of the Emoji?

Is it related to whether the graphics are linked or embedded?
Staff Lee D Posted November 26, 2019 Staff Share Posted November 26, 2019 Usually yes, the app can lose the link to the file (moved or deleted), so the version in the app is just a low res preview. The screenshot below is how I see the Emoji when it's layer is double clicked and it's clear considering the zoom level.
renate75
I have embedded the emoji and it does not open a new window when double-clicked. But the zoom in the Publisher is fine, only the PDF file is not.
Staff Lee D Posted November 26, 2019 Staff Share Posted November 26, 2019 My first screenshot was from a PDF I had exported of your file zoomed into 800%. Have you tried relinking the file or moving it from Dropbox to folder on your system and then insert again?
renate75
Yes, but unfortunately nothing changes. With which settings did you export the file? I last used the default settings.
Staff Lee D Posted November 27, 2019 Staff Share Posted November 27, 2019 I used the PDF for Print preset, if you are having this professionally printed you may need to use one of the others, it would depend on what the printer has advised. renate75
Yes, I know the settings the printer needs. But I wanted to find out if the problem was related to the PDF settings. So apparently not. But I really have no idea why the quality of my document is different.
