PippiL
Just wondering if anybody has an idea of how to change the color of clothing item in my portrait people Illustration? In Illustrator I just click on the layer and do an overlay of the color.
firstdefence
You can do the same thing in Affinity by clicking on the layer (Top) and adding a recolour adjustment filter, or a HSL adjustment filter. If you can make these drawings as vectors you can create a new Palette and add global colours, with global colours any objects that use the same global colour can be changed en masse. PippiL
Thank you I probably cannot turn this into a vector in Affinity?
GarryP
The Affinity applications do not have a pixel to vector conversion function at the moment, although many people have asked for one so it could be coming in the future, maybe, one day, perhaps. firstdefence
@PippiL Apology, a poorly written reply, I meant in the future it's worth considering creating drawings as vectors so that you can utilise the global colour option, also creating in vector gives you more flexibility for post editing your work i.e. being able to reshape your art if something doesn't look quite right, other than that it would have to be a recolour or HSL adjustment filter. firstdefence
To give you a example of using vector take a look at this file: Partially vectored example.afdesign Saved with history so you can jog back and forth in the history panel to get an idea of what I did and how you can still get the look you want. I've recreated the shirt, trousers and torso with shading. Everything I've drawn is easily editable.
