Guides not showing up (split)

Hi megaedit and Welcome to the Forums,

The guides are present for me on Catalina on my 2019 iMac and also on a 2014 Macbook Pro.   The only way i can replicate what you've shown in the screen recording us by disabling Show Guides.

What are the specs of the Macbook you are using and i'll see if we have the same model to test further.

Unless i'm mistaken (which is highly possible) @dutchshader You can't alter the opacity of these guides.  You can however alter the opacity of the grid via the Grid and Axis Manager, but this has no effect on the guides dragged out from the rulers :(

I am a new user of AD on an iMac 27" running Catalina 10.15.1 and having the same issue.  Dragging a guide onto the canvas does not show up.  It does however show up on the rulers.  The document is an SVG export from Gravit.  No amount of fussing with the Document Setup or Guides Manager was able to 'trick' AD into making the guides appear on the canvas.

I did create a new document in another tab with the same dimensions and the guides I dragged onto the canvas were there.  From here I tried to get the guides to 'disappear' hoping to discover a setting combination that might be causing the issue, but no luck.

Hopefully someone will be able to hunt down the bug.  For now I'm copying imported SVGs into new docs.

Thank you stokerg.

After formatting the Mackbook and performing a clean installation of Catalina, the software was installed for the first time with the operating system set to Italian.

I discovered that the problem happened when I changed the language of the operating system, going from Italian to English. When I selected Italian again as the main language of the operating system, everything went back to working properly.

Hi, did you solve the problem? I have the same problem here and it’s also an svg-import (from Illustrator).

Thanks and Kind Regards
Thomas
