John Rostron
Your images are impressive as artwork, but I find them less impressive as text. Most are hardly readable. GarryP
I don’t know if it’s just me but I think the highlight ellipses would look better if they were blurred a little towards the edges. The effects are great – a kind of ‘metallic jelly’ – but I think they are a little bit spoilt by the highlights. Maybe someone else in the forums has some good advice on this as I’m not an expert. Manofjesus
I test (earlier) some adjustments and make these ovals blurred a bit - it gives shiny look, and it is also look nice, but then switch blur off ))) But actually there a lot of FAKES here, and my goal is the main impression. Also there a lot of endless combinations - turn this ON, then turn this OFF and so on ))) So i decide to make STOP and release it to public GarryP 1 Quote Win10 x64 1907, 16G RAM, Core i7 + Wacom Cintiq 12WX Interactive Pen Display - Affinity Photo 1.7.3.481 + Beta 1.8.0.526, Adobe Photoshop CS6, Corel Draw X7, ArtCAM 2015 R2 iOS 13.1.0, iPad Pro 10.5, 64GB + Apple Pencil - Procreate 5.0.2, Affinity Photo 1.7.3, Affinity Designer 1.7.
Manofjesus
This time i decide to reproduce NEON effect in Affinity Designer. All elements are from vector. Only background is a bitmap. I found interesting thing. My file dimension is 1080px square. And after applying intensive FX - some image areas looks harsh. What i found to solve this issue - during export i enter resolution 3240px square - 3x per side bigger. And then open exported image and downscale it back to 1080 px square as i need. And it looks MUCH better . P.S. I use lanczos separable Smee Again, Wosven and GarryP 3 Quote Win10 x64 1907, 16G RAM, Core i7 + Wacom Cintiq 12WX Interactive Pen Display - Affinity Photo 1.7.3.481 + Beta 1.8.0.526, Adobe Photoshop CS6, Corel Draw X7, ArtCAM 2015 R2 iOS 13.1.0, iPad Pro 10.5, 64GB + Apple Pencil - Procreate 5.0.2, Affinity Photo 1.7.3, Affinity Designer 1.7.
Manofjesus
Here is my example, that illustrates, what i was talking in previous ENGINE post. This is very useful and unique feature ))) Thank you, Affinity team ! P.S. Click to picture (you see just big thumbnail in my post) and look to it at 100% zoom to evaluate actual difference. Staff MEB Posted December 12, 2019 Staff Share Posted December 12, 2019 Hi Manofjesus, Fantastic lettering work, thanks for sharing with us DrawPlus did have a supersampling option for export so it's possible the devs also consider it for Affinity later, who knows. I wouldn't mind to have it for sure. Thanks. Manofjesus 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
