I use Artboards (within Document Setup) in Illustrator all the time.  I am now trying to transition to Affinity Designer 1.3.2 and the lack of that feature is troubling.  I cannot open many of my *.ai documents (not all the pages at once).  Some of my *.ai files have 27 artboards.  (Yes, you can use Illustrator like InDesign, and sometimes it is preferable to do that due to the tools available in Illustrator which aren't in InDesign.)

I long for Artboards in AD.

We have just cancelled all our Adobe plans, and switched to the Affinity software only to be disappointed with the lack of Artboards and press ready PDF saving ability with bleed and cut marks. These are things designers need above anything else.

I had used the Betas prior to my purchase, so I knew full well what I was getting into before I bought the Affinity apps.  Canceling your Adobe subscription before you confirm you have all the replacement features in place is not a good idea. But it is easy to restart a subscription.  All said, don't give up on Serif just because the lack a feature here and there.  Go through the software with a fine toothed comb, report bugs and submit feature requests.  Realistically, it may take another year before I myself see Affinity apps as true replacements for Adobe apps, but I know that day is approaching and I want to help them achieve that if I can.  Hang in there!
