R C-R
If you mean the workspace background color (where the canvas or artboards are displayed) you can set that in Preferences > User Interface. walt.farrell
If @Einey means the Welcome Screen (and, by the way, Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums ), that doesn't seem to respond to the UI choice of light/dark in the Preferences. Einey
Thank you for the welcome and the quick responses with help. I used the preference suggestion and was able to change the workspace background color so now it is much easier on my eyes.

Einey
Thank you everyone for your help. Yes, terminology is a problem for me. I also find that the terminology is even slightly different than US software. Thank you, Walt, for your kind support it is appreciated. I am new to forums and Affinity so appreciate your patience. It is hard to add details when I don't know what I am describing. BTW what is a Splash screen?

My understanding is that it is the screen which comes up when you start the application. You can access it by going to the menu item Affinity Photo > About Affinity Photo. It has the version number. Basic terms about workspace are partly given in the help. https://affinity.help/photo/English.lproj/pages/Workspace/interface.html A little more detailed description is given in the Workbook. It's not cheap, but you might find it useful. 1 hour ago, Einey said: BTW what is a Splash screen? It is "opening screen" - first screen/image, when application start. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Splash_screen 1 hour ago, Einey said: I also find that the terminology is even slightly different than US software. Yes, and translation to other languages.... Therefore, I recommend using a screenshot (video, etc.) rather than a complicated and ambiguous description.
