John Baker
Hello forum, I'm a newbie here and have an issue with a file. Upon trying to load the file I get the following error message: "Failed to load document: (file name) Access to the document's file was lost while performing the initial loading. The document must now be closed". I have attached a screen grab of the error message. Is the file corrupt? Very frustrating as I have no way of knowing what the problem is. Any help would be appreciated! John

John Baker
Hi @DWright, thanks for the quick response. I use GSuite + Google Drive File Stream and the file typically sits there. When the problem first appeared I also tried copying the file to my desktop and loading it locally, with no success. I suspect it is corrupted somehow? Cheers, John
Staff DWright Posted November 19, 2019 Staff Share Posted November 19, 2019 Can you please PM me a copy of this file and I can check to see if it has become corrupted for you
John Baker
Thanks @DWright How do I do that? If I try and send a message I only have the option of 'Insert existing attachment' or 'Insert image from URL'. Apologies for noobness. Thanks! AFAIK, the 'Insert existing attachment' option only works with files already attached to some existing forum post & the 'Insert image from URL' one requires that the user has write access to some 'cloud' storage service like Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc. & is willing to add the file to it. For various reasons, neither of these options may be something every user wants to use. John Baker
@R C-R + @DWright thanks both. Is there any other way of uploading/sending my file? I'd appreciate anyone else attempting to open it to see if the issue is repeatable.

Alternatively, you could upload to DropBox, OneDrive, GoogleDrive, or other file-sharing site and share a link to the file here. Or, to keep it private, DWright could provide a private DropBox link for you to use, such that only Serif staff can view the file.
