Larryh
I am doing the graphic design of a game using SVG filesI was using Adobe Illustrator CC, but exporting SVG files in AI ruins the gradient, shapes, so I switched to affinity designerThe problem is that when I open any SVG file, the color of the vectors looks wrong, pale, without saturationI think it could be because the color settings, and display settingsWhen I export the file as SVG, the colors display correctly in other software, such as inkscape/illustrator (as should be) but not in affinity designer, so yeah, the problem is about displaying the colors in the software correctly. _______ These are two examples of the same file open in different softwares - (Affinity open the Affinity file.PNG - SVG screenshot) __- (Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape or other software or browser open the SVG file.PNG - SVG screenshot) Edited November 17, 2019 by Larryh

Larryh
I have found the reason of the issue and is not about color, is about masking and clipping, I will explain here what happened further in a moment Edited November 19, 2019 by Larryh
Larryh
The problem is that the masking shape takes the transparency that should be applied instead to the object And so, the object takes the default 100% transparency Should be in the inverse order, that is the issue, bug, inconventient I have Idk if there is a quick solution to make the transaprency apply to the correct object _ There is also other problem that makes the masking object not apply the mask to the object inside (Affinity Designer software convert the mask to a layer group instead, meaning that they are just in the same group, but there is no masking) All this when the SVG file is imported to Affinity Designer _ If you open the file in any other software or browser, the transparency is applied to the correct object I have sent a Email with a SVG file example, so you guys can check the issue Edited November 19, 2019 by Larryh
Staff Sean P Posted November 19, 2019 Staff Share Posted November 19, 2019 Hi Larryh, I've got hold of the SVG file and can confirm this is an issue that is already with development to be fixed. I shall get it bumped with them! Thanks for letting us know.

Larryh
Btw I pointed out two bugs, idk if both are being attended:1, Bug that makes the masking object not apply the mask to the object inside when importing* an SVG file(Affinity Designer software convert the mask to a layer group instead, meaning that they are just in the same group, but there is no masking) I could provide a SVG as explample if needed 2. Bug that makes the transparency added inverted to the masked object (This bug is the one that is presented in the SVG file that I sent via email previously) Edited November 21, 2019 by Larryh

Staff Sean P Posted November 21, 2019 Staff Share Posted November 21, 2019 Hi Larryh, Would you be able to upload a copy of the SVG to our internal Dropbox using the link below please?https://www.dropbox.com/request/eFQ0yvwsolPZJlFzvztn It will go directly to me rather than the support email, which goes to a different department. Thanks!

Staff Sean P Posted November 21, 2019 Staff Share Posted November 21, 2019 Thanks for the files. It looks like the actual clipping paths in your SVG are stored in the 'class' portion of the SVG and I don't think we're reading and applying those when opening. This is a known issue, however I've passed your files onto development to investigate the issue fully.
