frankster69
Hello Affinity, I'm trying a workflow with presets for my images. In Affinity Photo (Photo persona) I edit one image to taste with adjustments, then export it as jpg. Then I want to save the adjustments layers as afphoto file, but with the actual image deleted. So only the (grouped) adjustmentlayers are in the file. But still the filesize of it is the same as with the actual image included, why is that? It should be only a few kilobytes I would think? In my case I'm editing a bunch of 16-bit PNG's, all about 600MB in size. The afphoto file if saved WITH image, about 800MB, is the same as when I delete the actual PNG but save only the adjustments. How can I only save the adjustments? kind regards, Frank
carl123
Assuming you have already deleted the image file 1. Re-Open the document 2. Goto snapshot panel and delete the snapshot 3. Save document 4. Close document (important!) - no need to close APhoto 5. Reopen document do a Save as... to a NEW filename The new file should now be much smaller This is for Windows can't say what happens on a MAC frankster69 and Roger C 1 1 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. It would be nice instead of a huge file in Affinity format to have and original and a 6kb file with its editing to be applied any time when needed. My question: how do you apply the adjustments only to the photo in original (before editing) to restore the saved editing? Thank you, Leo
frankster69
Hi Leo, In my case in one of two ways: Either open the file with only the adjustments, select all adjustment layers, copy, open the new image, paste. Or, open the adjustments file, and just place the new image in there, under the adjustment layers. The first way is better, because you leave the adjustment file intact. If there are other ways, I would be glad to hear them! regards, Frank Roger C

If they are only adjustments (and not masks, for example), and you don't need to adjust them individually on the new image: Make the adjustments. File > Export LUT... and save them in .cube format. To apply them to another image: Layer > New Adjustment Layer > LUT... and then click the Load LUT button. Select your saved LUT, and that should apply your original set of adjustments as a composite in one LUT adjustment layer.
