Copy/paste selected area in Photo Persona of Publisher

When you switch to Photo persona within Publisher, and you make a selection to copy/paste - it doesn't work.  It copies the whole page, not the selection.

Sounds like you may be trying to make a pixel selection on an Image layer (it will show as (Image) in the Layers panel). You'll need to rasterize that layer before you can copy pixels from it.

That worked!  Thanks.  I am not sure I understand what rasterize means, and why I would need to do it to an image in Publisher but not in Photo.

It's entirely a matter of how you handled the image.

• Placing an image, or copy/paste, or drag/drop, gives you an (Image) layer that is a kind of vector layer.
• Opening an image gives you a (Pixel) layer that is a raster layer.

If you Place/paste/drop an image into Photo it will behave the same as if you did any of those in Publisher.
