Raskolnikov
1.- I can hardly see the button to close the file. (even trying to change the user's interface doesn't seems to solve it) 2.- Possibility of cutting the canvas on screen (without having to go to "Document Setup" and introduce exact values) (Photoshop's capture) 3.- It's possible to change the ruler's origin to a certain element's point? I think can be useful for working with relative distances when designing an element or group of elemens on a canvas' zone. (f.e: I want to duplicate an element and move that copy a distance of 50 pixels on the vertical, from the original element). Now that i think of it... maybe can be solved been able to work with the implementation of smart snapping. 4.- Select an element even if the layer where that element is contained it's not selected on the right panel (with for example combination of ALT/CMD/SHIFT and click on mouse) [sOLVED] 5.- Make the "locked layers" not able to be deleted (by accident) until they are unlocked. When a layer it's locked, all its content (sons, grandsons, great-grandsons ,....) will be locked too and vice versa by unlocking. 6.- Maybe useful (in order to a better organization of elements) the creation o an "add folder" button (as well as the actual "add layers" button) on the layers's panel. (Photoshop's capture) 7.- Possibility of selecting the DIN-A formats (A-0 , A-1 , A-2 , A-3, A-4) as dimensions for a canvas, when starting a new document. Staff MEB Posted September 4, 2014 Staff Share Posted September 4, 2014 Raskolnikov, 4 - You can do that if you enable Edit All Layers button in the layers page (on the bottom left) without using any shortcut keys. Staff Ben Posted September 4, 2014 Staff Share Posted September 4, 2014 Pretty sure we have all the DIN-A formats covered? They are under the list of Print sizes when creating a new document. Raskolnikov
BUG: A-1 Size it's: 841 mm x 594 mm. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper_size ...but Affinity shows (when selecting A1 format).... 1cm looks silly but it's problematic when at the end of the work, when starting to print, you realize about it... Staff Andrew Tang Posted September 4, 2014 Staff Share Posted September 4, 2014 BUG: A-1 Size it's: 841 mm x 594 mm. Good spot indeed! :) This will be fixed in the next beta.
Raskolnikov
Thanks, great work!! 8.- By the way, exist any way on the Document Setup Menu to select between Horizontal / Vertical when choosing those formats? For example: 841 x 594 or 594 x 841 [sOLVED] 9.- Is there any option (without using the menu bar) for Affinity do not quit the program when i close the last file on it? the tab bar disappears (logically) when only one file is opened. I personally like to close a file when finish and open then another one without having to restart the program. [sOLVED]
Staff MEB Posted September 4, 2014 Staff Share Posted September 4, 2014 Check the last image you posted in post #6. On the bottom right there's a Portrait checkbox. Uncheck it to get Landscape format instead. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

Raskolnikov
10.- Won't be easier to understand , when opening a new canvas... this symbols (or similar).... rather than portrait or landscape (which option do not appear because it's by default set)? Raskolnikov
I have being using a bit the app Sketch and there are a few little more things I would find interesting AD to have or to think about implementing anyhow. A separate zoom in / zoom out button (always accessible)... or behaviour... so can be zoomed in and out without contextual menu. Folders... on the layer's panel...(with their own recognizable icon) which are no more mistaken with simple layers. Grid personalization and settings. Ruler's options... And ... why not... presets.... I mean... being able to set the default forder where the proyects are open, and where the proyects are saved... as well as ... the default folder where the (possible) templates are contain... :) ...all this can save tons of time! :) and make the AD user experience much pleasant because this way we (the users) can focus on the real important, our projects. :P
Mike W077
I also would heartily suggest being able to change the Ruler origin ("0" point) along the rulers. When I build in .125 all around for the bleed trim, I want the zero point to be .125 in from the edge so that my page centers I am designing around are after trimming.
