Straight Pen Tool

Recommended Posts

Hi Designstuff123 :)

When using the Pen tool you can hold a modifier finger down on the screen to create curves in straight lines, however this doesn't constrain your lines to exactly horizontal or vertical. For this, I recommend creating a grid over your document, then turn snapping on and set your options to Snap to Grid. You can then draw using the pen tool whilst being constrained to horizontal/vertical lines.

Please see the following video for more - https://affinity.serif.com/tutorials/designer/ipad/video/272733789

Please note -

I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.

Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks!

But a straight line, basically? Hold shift as you draw.

This is the keyboard modifier for desktop, but as the customer is using iPad this can be achieved using the 1 finger modifier, as explained above :)
