Image loses quality when copying from Word

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I use a source that doesn't allow you to download their images as files; you have to copy and paste them. This doesn't work when pasting into Affinity, but I can paste them into Word and then copy and paste them into Affinity (when using a Mac---this doesn't work on PC). However, this comes with a significant reduction in image quality.

Here are screenshots for comparison. The different is even more noticeable in print.

Please help!

How from a webbrowser's webpage? - If yes then there is also an image burried inside and you can get the browsers (Firefox, Chrome) web developer tools to fetch the images, since they are also locally cached. - Other than that, what happens if you copy over the images into let's say some other image viewer tool (for saving those then from that one, instead of using Word), do the images degenerate then too when loaded into APub?

You can try to paste into IrfanView, then save as an image or copy/paste from that one over to APub. IrfanView allows also to perform some image manipulations.
