Johnny Chin
What setting is best to retain most of the quality(images, vectors and text, for text hope it's truly text and not outlined vector shape) to be imported into InDesign or Affinity Publisher? I get to know that sadly APu doesn't link AD files even it say linked and only images files are truly linked at this point. I need to make a 15X pages of book with full of graphics> It is already 5 or more GB when I just reached 10 plus pages, APu is laggy and slow at that point it's not usable. So if this is the case, I will use InDesign and need to transfer my AD files into InDesign with PDF, but what setting is the best to retain most of the quality? InDesign should able to truly link pdf at this point right?
Staff stokerg Posted November 11, 2019 Staff Share Posted November 11, 2019 Hi Johnny Chin, The PDF preset 'For Print' should be more than enough to keep quality and won't change text to curves. As for Indesign being able to truly link a PDF, i've no idea as i don't use InDesign but i suspect it won't take you long to find out

It depends on what you are going to do with the PDF. Is it for print or web? And yes, InDesign does link/re-link PDF files and you can also embed and unembed them. But if you are thinking of using a CC version of InDesign you will hopefully already know you have to rent the software. You cannot buy it. No choice, my AD files are huge, so without link APu is super slow to work with these files
