Michael Warren
When are Affinity going to publish a detailed textbook on how to use Publisher? I have corrupted a text style so that the second letter is superimposed over the first rather than following it in normal form. What do I do to re-set? MikeW
I'm not seeing it either. So a screen shot as suggested would be good. You have a lot of non-breaking spaces. That's what those symbols mean in the first 3 paragraphs. You should replace them with regular spaces. You can view these invisible characters using the Text menu, Show Special Characters. AlanPickup
Hi Michael To my mind what you are trying to do is the work of the program without using the tools of the software, like justifying by using spaces or some other non showing Character. Also you are trying to use multi column frames rather than making separate panels for items, also linking the multi column frames. Some of you images & text frames have multiple copies on top of each other and the paragraph styles are confused, maybe from cutting and pasting. I could see your type going vertical rather than going horizontal as, but it was covered by another frame and not easily spotted. I know you must feel frustrated if you are just coming to use a program like Publisher, but there is not short cuts other that watching the tutorials. The legacy tutorials for Page Plus may help you on basic use of Desk top publishing https://community.serif.com/tutorials/written-tutorial/1/tags/pageplus I have done a copy of how I would do it using guides rather than columns and a blank for the inner page hope this helps you Mike Trifold Leaflet.afpub Quote Alan Pickup Windows 11 Home all Affinity suite of Apps PC and Gigabyte Laptop 16gb Ram and Nvidia GTX1660 Super on each. firstdefence
Thought I'd have a go at tweaking too Added a modern twist in the form of a QRCode that a mobile phone can scan to take you to your website. Do people use QR codes? On the advise of my printer I stopped including them years ago - they took up valuable real estate and nobody actually used them! Assuming you can handle double sided printing it might be worth including a list of the interest groups and their leaders' contact details - I've found a lot of people look at which groups are of interest to them first, and then join the U3A in order to participate Quote AP, AD & APub user, running Win10
firstdefence
I always use QR Codes, it's a fast way to get information, saves typing urls etc and information can be loaded into them, you can even have wifi settings, a location and more, they all enable easy access to information from paper to device, so I wouldn't readily discount them.
