I suspect your image needs to be rasterised so that you can select the pixels. Placed photos come in as image layers, not pixel layers. Check the layer type. If it says image, tap the menu above the layer studio and select rasterise. Then try reselecting. :)

It really said image so I changed it and now the frame is kind of black at the right side

Hi Jooon, that is because you chose to output your selection as a mask. It’s not a bad way to do it as you can further refine the selection using the mask. Here’s how: Select the mask layer. Select a solid paintbrush and set the colour to black. Paint over any area (like those dark lines) that you want to remove/hide. If you hide too much, switch the colour to white and paint it back in. When using masks, black conceals and white reveals. It’s non destructive editing. Try it and have fun! :)

I think I am doing it wrong.... when I paintbrush the sides with black than there is an even bigger black frame :)

You have missed selecting a few pixels along the bottom. You could choose eraser and remove them.

This is what I would do.

Sounds like you have not selected the mask layer to paint on. See attached recording. Black conceals, white reveals. Note the mask layer is clipped to the main image. If you hide the mask you see all the original image.

Perhaps the simplest way is to turn on snapping (little magnet symbol) and use the move tool to position the object.
