RolandoM
Hi, I'm using Affinity Photo version 1.7.3 on a MacBook Pro running macOS Catalina 10.15.1 I'm struggling on how to flood erase every pixel that matches with a sample color in a layer even if the pixels aren't contiguous. I expected to see a checkbox on the tool bar like with the flood selection tools and others but I can't find anything. I'm not sure if the option is somewhere else or if there's a different way of doing this. Thank you
firstdefence
You can use the Background eraser to select a colour as you mouseover and hold and erase while holding, else the flood select tool is going to be your best bet with contiguous unchecked and then either use the basic eraser or just press delete. There is also the option to refine the selection which gives another level of control over what you erase. GarryP
Are you using the correct tool? The Flood Erase Tool has no Contiguous setting but the Flood Fill Tool and the Flood Select Tool – as suggested by firstdefence above – do.

I think you might have the Flood Erase & Background Erase Brush tools confused. The Background Erase Brush has a Contiguous option; the Flood Erase Tool does not. muganga
No, I'm not confusing them. Flood erase used to have a contiguous (or not) option. It disappeared some time ago, and I have no idea why. 🤥 The brush is not really a substitute.
Alfred
The Flood Selection Tool (‘magic wand’) has a ‘Contiguous’ option, so a simple workaround would be to make a flood selection and then perform the deletion as a separate step. muganga
Just tried that. It's clunky compared to the flood erase with contiguous option, but I agree it works Alfred
