Symm1
A couple of months ago I purchased two plugins that worked in both Photo and Designer. The first plugin turned a photo into an architectural rendering - in color, but with blurred edges like a watercolor painting. The second one converted a photo into a painting with a range of adjustments to create color variations, and squiggly lines overlaying the image. I installed both plugins in both Photo and Designer, but before I could use them very long my PC suffered a catastrophic Hard Drive failure and I lost both plugin programs. When I restored the PC by replacing the drive and all the apps I found I was missing these two plugins and I have not been able to find them online since. I can't remember the name of the brand or locate them via a Google search of available plugins for Photo and Designer. Can anyone help me? Is anyone familiar with these two programs? They both converted photos to artwork automatically with a range of adjustments to make them more sketchy, colorful or avant guard. Does anyone know about them or tried them? Thanks,
carl123
1. Were the plugins specifically marketed as plugins for Affinity software or were they Photoshop plugins that just happened to work in Affinity products 2. If you purchased them 2 months ago you should have bank (or credit card) records that show you the company name(?) you made the payments to. Can you check that? stokerg 1 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. Symm1
They were marketed as Affinity plugins. I saw no mention that they were originally Photoshop plugins, although they may have been.
Staff stokerg Posted November 6, 2019 Staff Share Posted November 6, 2019 Hi Symm1 and Welcome to the Forums, Not sure how you go the plugin working in Designer, as Designer doesn't support plugins. Affinity Photo does and the only i can think it might be is Topaz Glow, but that really is a guess. I'd suggest following the advice from @carl123 and seeing if you can find a record of the payment you made
v_kyr
Since the OP is probably on Win, it could also be some AKVIS plugin (watercolor, sketch, pastel, oilpaint etc.). stokerg 1 Quote ☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan ☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.
PaulEC
A free alternative for this sort of thing is FotoSketcher. (It's a stand alone app, rather than a plugin.) Symm1
Thanks for all the suggestions. I am trolling thru my bank statements so far with no luck. I don't think it was an AKVIS plugin, although they have a good range of fairly similar products. The one I am trying to find was so intuitive. It automatically applied a couple of dozen effects and you could selectively turn them on or off and adjust them individually, all within the one application. v_kyr
Well there are a bunch of such third party tools with PS plugin capabilities available, so you need to enclose in some way in order to find out which concrete one it was. Some common players in this field are ... NIK Collection Topaz Labs AKVIS JixiPix Franzis ... and so on ... Symm1
Thanks for the list. It was none of these. I am sorry I cannot post a sample as I lost them on my crashed HD without adequate back up.
Symm1
The portrait app which had a demo of a model's face turned it into a stylized painting with added scribbles like hand-drawn shading, highlights, color overlays etc. The app was multi layered and you could edit which effects you wanted to keep and which ones to turn off. I am frustrated I can't find any reference to it on Google.
carl123
This site has 7 plugins which they say work in Affinity Photo https://thepluginsite.com/products/photowiz/index.htm ColourStyler seems closest to what you have described so far If not what you are looking for someone else may find them interesting I still think you need to find the payment records for the purchases stokerg 1 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. John Rostron
Do you still have any emails from the plugin provider? These should provide link to download your plugin and give the necessary password. In the meantime what are you doing about installing a backup system?
