So that’s three different techniques.

My guess is that the specific technique to use would greatly depend on (but not be limited to):
* the image being converted – colours, complexity, etc.;
* what the result is going to be used for – quality prints, classroom playtime doodles, etc.;
* the time/effort that can be spent creating the results.

If this is just for someone to have something to colour in when they were bored I would probably go with this:
