[All Apps] Outer Shadow fx help topic wrong

Recommended Posts

The online & built-in help topics for the Outer Shadow effect are the same for all three Affinity apps except that the example for AP is different. Each one of them mentions an "Offset Tool" described as setting "angle and offset simultaneously" & a gear icon named "Layer Effects" described as providing "access to the Layer Effects dialog for more advanced settings and controls."

From what I can tell neither of those things are present in the effect window.

Affinity Photo 1.7.3.155 & Affinity Designer 1.7.3.1 for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 13.1.2

In this post, @carl123 helped me understand that the Offset Tool & the gear icon are actually in the Effects panel rather than in the Layer Effects panel dialog window, but I still think the Outer Shadow help topic needs to make that much clearer than it does now.

rather than in the Layer Effects panel,

It is not a panel it's the Layer Effects dialog

Which may be adding to the confusion if users don't differentiate between the panel and the dialog

Due to the fact that Boris Johnson is now our Prime Minister, punctuation, spelling and grammar will never be worried about ever again.  We now have far bigger problems to be concerned about.

Proper use of the terminology is important :)
