Brushes Import

Hello guys,

I’m writing because even though I’ve uploaded the new  version of Affinity Photo on my IPad (1.7.3), I’m still not able to upload brushes of any kind. What can I do to solve this problem?

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums  

To import the brushes into Affinity Photo click the menu in the brushes studio and select import brushes and then browse to the location of your brushes as shown below

Hi, it looks like you have those files stored on the iPad. Try relocating them to iCloud or Dropbox. Affinity has issues with some file types stored locally. Below is a view of some brushes I have stored on iCloud and which import without issue.

After some tries, I was able to solve it.

just trying to upload them again and then go to downloads. You will be able to import them

I had to move the ZIP file to iCloud from my iPad, Files, download folder.  Unzip and import to Brush on iPad.

I have the same problem and since I installed affinity I cannot import photoshop brushes into artstudio pro from internal memory. I had to uninstall affinity photo and request a refund.

All the  brushes I have are in the Cloud. The only brushes that doesn’t work in AP are the .csh files, they are special for Photoshop. When I want a brush I import it from the Cloud and if I know I don’t need it I delete the brush from the brushtool. Because they are in the Cloud I can use them whenever needed. As long as the brush is an .abr it works fine in AP. I use them at the iPad Pro and on my iMac.

Are you saying that you believe Affinity apps are preventing you loading brushes into Artstudio Pro (another app entirely)? I don't think that is possible with iOS sandboxing security.

I am not saying it, it's a fact. After uninstalling affinity photo I had to restart the ipad to be able to import brushes to artstudio pro. Something happens with affinity photo and artstudio pro when both are installed.

That is very odd.  

I just tried importing an .abr brush into Artstudio Pro. No issues. Worked fine and I didn’t need to uninstall Affinity. Is it all brush types or specific brush types that you are having issues with?

Edit. Just saw you have brushes stored locally not in cloud. I will test again. 

Edit. Ok, I see what you mean. Artstudio Pro cannot import brush from local storage, same as Affinity. But works from Cloud, same as Affinity. You uninstall Affinity and can then install from local. Yes? 

I wonder if uninstalling Artstudio Pro fixes Affinity local install issue??

Contacted support about this issue. It seems that there's an error with the local storage or Google Drive, but worked when uploaded to iCloud and imported into Affinity Photo.
