Mark Wood
Document text looks perfect on screen but when printed the text spacing is compressed with some letters butting up to the adjacent letter. Oddly this is not consistent down the page, it happens most with a capital letter touching the next lower case letter. Having tried two different printers on various print and media settings I can only think it is Publisher(I only updated the firmware today but it was doing it in both versions) as this is not a problem in Word or dare I say it the program I was hoping to ditch, InDesign. Any ideas as to what is going on. Thanks, Mark
Staff Pauls Posted October 31, 2019 Staff Share Posted October 31, 2019 Is it related to any particular fonts maybe? Does the same occur if you export to PDF? If you could upload a sample file, the font(s) and let us know the OS version and Printer model you are using that would be great
Mark Wood
Hi Pauls, I have been discussing this with Gareth, so far we have found that PDF's print ok but I don't want to take that route as the colour on the letterhead seems desaturated(do all PDF's behave like that?). Changing the font did sort it out but why Universal 57 condensed should be a problem I don't know, it is in the Publisher choice of fonts. The OS is Mac 10.13.6 and I have used 2 budget printers HP Envy 4500 and a Canon MG5700. I have attached a phone pic of the problem.
