Matthias
Great — may the next round begin! Thanks, Affinity. Edit: Unified toolbar looks good. Every pixel counts.
000
Woohoo, thanks ... that's a nice list of fixes and features. Love "Collect Resources" and am curious to find out what the "unified toolbar" looks like. Downloading as we write.
000
Me again ... just started the beta and noticed that the main toolbar has significantly smaller icons than the release version. Is there a way to enlarge them and make them the same size as before? I have a 27" screen and there's plenty of room for bigger icons ...
Staff Jon P Posted October 30, 2019 Staff Share Posted October 30, 2019 Can you post a screenshot @Jens Krebs? We are aware of an issue where the icons can look a bit "blurry" on non retina screens, so curious of this is similar. fde101
A fair number of small but important improvements, including some that I'm quite sure were not small amounts of work to implement. Looks like there is no sign yet of global layers or of the layer tagging feature I had suggested, hoping at least one of those comes in 1.8 as this is evidently a major issue for a lot of users... global layers ideally but the tagging feature would get us at least part way there and I'm guessing it would be less work to implement. Also no indication of conditional formatting (regex styles) or prepress features / color separations yet... Wondering if the issue of the wrong global color being selected in the swatches palette has been addressed yet... will be curious to look into that when I get a chance to work on this, hopefully later today. A_B_C
I don’t see much difference. Sure, the Persona icons are a little closer to each other, but I would almost guess this is a UI bug. I am sure the background well cannot be displayed properly, when the Photo or the Designer Persona is activated. Is that what it should look like? Attached are three screenshots -- I opened both applications, the release version icons are on top, the beta version in the second row -- the icons are roughly 20% smaller. fde101
It looks the same to me also - here is release and beta right up against each other (beta in front): There does appear to be a redraw issue - i had another window in front of the toolbar just now and when I moved it away I got a line through the icons: Mark Oehlschlager
Staff AdamW Posted October 30, 2019 Author Staff Share Posted October 30, 2019 Apologies, Unified Toolbar feature should have been flagged as Mojave or newer.

There is no fundamental change in functionality, however. mrtymcln, fde101 and R C-R 1
fde101
I see... I'll need to try it out on my MBP at some point. That is running Mojave. 12 hours ago, AdamW said: Choose between 'Serif Defaults' or 'Apple Defaults' for text editing keys. e.g. Serif default for 'Move to Beginning of Word' is <Cmd>-<Left Arrow> whereas Apple default is <Alt>-<Left Arrow>. mac_heibu
Is it „expected behaviour“, that the beta download lasts for ages? (Tested my 100 mbit internet connection, and all works fine) The download forecast for the beta version says 4 hours!

mac_heibu
Interesting! My internet connection is working fine! I just re-downloaded the actual version of InDesign for a test in some 5 minutes! But it is ok. The new beta cycle will work without me as well. 000
