PaulEC
I'm not sure if this is a bug, but I'm sure it didn't happen in previous versions. The PDF settings keep returning to "For Web", rather than staying on the "For Print" setting (which I always use). As a general point, for all the apps, it would be so much better if we could set what we want as defaults, rather than continuously having to reset them. Staff Gabe Posted October 30, 2019 Staff Share Posted October 30, 2019 Hi @PaulEC, The preset shown when you open the export dialogue is always the last preset used for export. If yours is acting differently, can you attach a screen recording of this in action?
PaulEC
I'm not too good at doing screen recordings, but what I do is pretty straight forward: I always export PDFs "for print" at 300dpi. To do so I use the shortcut (shift+Ctrl+Alt+S) the dialogue box opens and it is set to "for web" at 72dpi. Then I have to change it back to what I want. The setting seems to "stick" while APub is open, but it resets every time I close and reopen the app. Quote Acer XC-895 : Core i5-10400 Hexa-core 2.90 GHz : 32GB RAM : Intel UHD Graphics 630 : Windows 10 Home Affinity Publisher 2 : Affinity Photo 2 : Affinity Designer 2 : (latest release versions) on desktop and iPad "Beware of false knowledge, it is more dangerous than ignorance." Staff Gabe Posted October 31, 2019 Staff Share Posted October 31, 2019 Hmm... that's odd. The settings should stay unless you clear the user settings or delete the appdata folder. Try this: Close Publisher. Navigate to %AppData%\Affinity\Publisher\ and rename 1.0 to 1.0.backup. Reopen Publisher. PaulEC
PaulEC
Thanks for that, Gabe. It worked! - It's now staying on my preferred settings for PDF export. (I put back some things like Assets and Workspaces, one at a time a to check if they affected it, just to save having to redo lots of stuff - still working .)
