Lakeheart Guesthouse
The greatest thing I miss about using your famous monopolist competitor is the wonderful Oil Paint filter. I used to use it frequently in conjunction with the Simplify feature from Topaz. It would be so valuable to have these features in Photo. Fixx
I think if you need realistic oil painting effect you should look to third party filters and apps... but meanwhile any filter technology that adds new features to AP would be good. Possibly it could be more multifunctional with extensive parameters and some settings would make oil painting effect?
Lakeheart Guesthouse
Fixx, there are a great many choices for paint filters in the marketplace, but how many of them can be installed in Affinity Photo? Plus, the vast majority of them are quite crude. The Adobe Oil Paint filter streamlines and stylizes the actual content of the image in a sophisticated, artistic, manner. Wosven
If you've time do do it "manually", you can use Live filter lightning and paint with the brushes' categories "Paint" and 'Gouaches DAUB". A video explaining the process here: (and somewhere in this forum) ChrisElizabeth6
Wosven
An example with the layers (but I had to resample the file, it's better with a larger one)! IMG_20190823_095709v2.afphoto
