Publisher: clicking on Assets crashes the app

Recommended Posts

Hi VicH,

Welcome to the forums :)

Does this happen when you click a specific asset or is it when you click anywhere in the asset tab? If possible could you provide a screen recording of this issue? Could you also please tell me which operating system you are using?

Thanks

C

Hi VicH,

Are you using the App Store version or the Affinity store version of the apps?

Please could you navigate to ~/Library/Container/com.seriflabs.affinitypublisher and rename this file to com.seriflabs.affinitypublisher.old then attach a copy of it to this thread? This should get your app working again and allow us to look into why this happened.

This seems odd... I don't have that file in the Library/Containers folder. I do have similar files for Affinity Photo and Designer (see image).

If you bought Publisher from the Affinity Store the file path will be slightly different:

~/Library/Application Support/Affinity Publisher

Affinity Photo 1.8.4, Affinity Designer 1.8.4, Affinity Publisher 1.8.4;  2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 40GB RAM; macOS 10.15.6
Affinity Photo
1.8.4.186 & Affinity Designer 1.8.4.4 for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 14.0.1

Okay... Now, when I re-opened Publisher and click on the Asset Tab, it no longer shuts down the program.

However, all my Page Presets are gone. Is there a way to restore them?

We will have to look into why this issue occurred and if we can repair your asset file and then give it back to you I'm afraid. At this point in time there is no way to restore them.

I have the same issue. Publisher will crash when I click on Assets. The crash only seems to happen when I try to open the Assets panel right after I open up Publisher. As a workaround I click on View>Studio and then uncheck Assets. Then go back to View>Studio and click on Assets to select it. Not sure why unselecting and selecting works but it's a workaround for now. Please excuse the huge image.

Image seems huge. Tried to make smaller with no success.

I need some help: Since more or less 1 week I also have the problem that affinity publisher crashes immediately if I click on assets. I use version 1.8.4 on a mac. This never happened before. Has anyone an idea what happened or same problems like me?
