Designer - export jpeg at new size?

Recommended Posts

This has probably been covered elsewhere, but I cannot find relevant info, so...

If I have a graphic designed on pixel measurements for jpeg export at x1 & x2 size for web; which is good. The vector file or an exported pdf can be resized in a different document retaining the vector quality but if I need a print resolution jpeg file (for use in Word for example) at a larger size than the original graphic, how can I do this without having a different vector file or resizing one of the exported jpegs? I think that a x3 jpeg export would, whilst giving the rightish resolution, the physical size would be small. Does that make any sense to you?

What I am thinking is... can the original vector graphic be linked to another example of the graphic in the smae file but at a larger scaled size that could be exported via a slice at x3 at the right print size? Any changes to the original graphic would update the "linked" graphic. Or could the graphic be linked into another seperate Designer file and rescaled etc and be updated with any alterations to the original?

I think there may be a way of doing this, probably really simple! I also think that there may be a better way of phrasing this question! :-)

Any assistance appreciated.

Doh! Sooo obvious. Thought it would be. :-)

Have been enjoying the export panel to output to updateable files via slices I'd forgotten the "normal" route to do this. *Hanging head in shame* but great to have a forum to ask (& get answers) to questions.
