Constant crashing - both Photo & Designer

Recommended Posts

I don't know if anyone else is having the same problem, but since the last update both Photo and Affinity have been crashing. I have never had any issue before, but now I dread the "not responding" half way through something. I have sparked it up again this morning and 5 minutes later it is "not responding". I can't wait for the next update because I fear for my sanity. Would it cause a problem with the program if I uploaded a previous version? Many thanks

Can you pleas reset your app back to its default settings by holding down the CTRL key while launching the app. When the Clear User Data window appears, click Select All and then Clear. The app will now open.

Be aware that resetting your app back to its default settings will lose any custom settings such as keyboard shortcuts and brushes etc. To backup such settings before resetting the app, please watch our Affinity: Exporting User Settings and Keyboard Shortcuts video. - https://player.vimeo.com/video/189596577/

If you are still getting crashes after you have reset the apps can you please send me the crash reports by doing the following

On Windows go to the location below the Run Dialog. In this folder you will find Crash Reports generated by our apps. Please send us the .dmp file with the latest Created/Modified Date.

%APPDATA%\Affinity\Photo\1.0\CrashReports

If you are running the Mac versions of the apps please go to Applications > Utilities and open the Console app. Crash Reports from our apps can be found in the User Reports section. You can Right Click the required Crash Report and select Reveal in Finder.
