Two different accounts / logins?

Recommended Posts

I'm a new user. I've migrated from Adobe as it's just too massive and complex for my requirements. I used to use PS and AI, and particularly Fireworks (which I LOVED, and Designer is the closest I can find to it). I have a query that is currently confusing me, and making me wonder whether I'm doing something wrong.

Just now, I tried to log in to the Affinity forum and was greeted with the message that the email address I used for purchasing Affinity (iPad Designer + Photo; as well as all three desktop products) was not recognised.

I was forced to sign up, using the same details (email and pw) - which seems extremely disingenuous - why is this the case?

I cannot understand why I'm required to have two different accounts. Unless, I'm doing something wrong.

Some insight would be appreciated.

Hi @Heavy Chef,

Welcome to the Affinity forum.

Two separate accounts are indeed required. Not all Affinity users will have purchased through the Affinity Store as our apps are also sold through the Mac App Store and the Microsoft Store. To avoid any confusion of some users having an account by default of purchasing through our store and others not having an account, the forum is here as its own separate entity and users can choose whether or not they wish to create an account.

Any spelling or grammatical errors found in the above post are deliberate and included to boost the self-esteem of those who spot them.

Just FYI, there was no requirement that you use the same email and password. You could have used different email addresses, or the same email but have different passwords, depending on how you want to manage your identities.
