Silver06
Hi all, I just can't get inpainting to work. I have the correct tool. Under edit the in-paint option is greyed out. I have opened a photo and duplicated it. I have tried various options. The opacity is at 100% as suggested in some posts. I have added a pixel layer and tried current and below. I have unlocked the original layer. I have tried it on all three layers at different times, so it isn't using the wrong layer: the orginial, duplicate and pixel layer. I have run out of ideas. By the way I have used inpainting successfully previously. Any help appreciated.
carl123
The Edit > Inpaint option will only be available if you have made a selection on your image. The Inpainting Brush Tool will work without a selection active. Normally the quickest way to solve these sorts of problems is for you to upload a video of you using the tools or a full screen screenshot showing the Layers Panel and the tool selected stokerg 1 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. benrymnd
I don't know if you read my original post about inpainting not working but one of the suggestions to try was to rasterize the image you have opened then try the inpainting tool
R C-R
@Silver06, are you sure you made a pixel ("marching ants") selection & the selected layer was a "(Pixel)" layer & not an "(Image)" layer? If you do that File > Inpaint should work. The attached road.afphoto file (4.4 MB) includes the history so you can use the History panel slider to scroll back & forth to see the steps I used to inpaint a small part of the left side of the photo after using the Freehand Selection Tool to make the selection.
