Hi Jens Arner,

Welcome to the forums :)

This has been previously covered in the below topic -

You can also find a tutorial for Indexing here - https://affinity.serif.com/tutorials/publisher/desktop/video/337458844

I hope this helps!

Please note -

I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.

Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks!

Thanks for your reply, but unfortunately it does not solve the
problem, or maybe it's me who doesn't understand the suggestion

I have a long story about the family and its history. It's a story I've made in Indesign before, and now via a PDF copied into Publisher, that works better than Indesign.
In this report, there is approx. 9,000 names that I now have to
index, as surnames, first names.

Do you have any suggestions, ie. a macro or equivalent or...?

Kind regards

My sincerest apologies for the delayed response.

Unfortunately there's no macro capabilities for this, you'll have to manually add the Indexes from the Index Studio. Alternative you could use Find and Replace to locate the name(s) and then use the keyboard shortcut CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + [ (Windows) or CMD + OPTION + SHIFT + [ (Mac) to add an Index Marker for the highlighted word - I hope this helps!
