Choose Sampling Area when using Inpainting Brush Tool

Would that be a lot different from the clone tool???

That is way different. The Clone Brush Tool just copies directly from the source. Inpainting analyzes the surrounding pixels and replaces the brushed part with a more natural look. Well sometimes. If the sampled pixels include parts that you don't want as replacement, it can get ugly. That's why I'm suggesting the ability to freely choose the sampling area.

yeah you're right. I hardly use the Clone Brush Tool; Inpainting's my favorite!:) I can see your point & agree that it would be nice at times, but for what I use it for it usually does great on its own. Which impresses me time & again!   [Thanks Affinity Creators!:)]
