antonkudin
As you can see when scaling the pattern to be 100%, tiling issue appears as an extra pixel in the image, that's not there, near the top handle. This only shows up if handle is orientaded at 0º, it seems. Attached the pattern (it has a threshold and transparency applied to it in the gif)
antonkudin
Issue is visible on this pattern only on top (top handle), i haven't investigated other 3 sides.
Staff Gabe Posted October 21, 2019 Staff Share Posted October 21, 2019 Hi @antonkudin, I cannot exactly tell what's going on without seeing the afphoto file, but I believe it's so small that the pixels don't align to whole pixels, and what you see it the anti-alias being clamped to whole pixels by the threshold adjustment. Thanks, Gabe.
antonkudin
Threshold is just for visibility, its really has no effect on this issue. Ive added it because my pattern is harder to see without one. You can make any small pattern file and this reappears.
antonkudin
Attached a doc with the issue, different pattern issue.afphoto
Staff Gabe Posted October 21, 2019 Staff Share Posted October 21, 2019 Well, that's exacly what's going on. The image is 90x90 and you apply it to a 150px document. At some point, when you stretch the texture, your texture pixels will not fall onto the pixels of your document, so will shift left/right/up/down. It is expected. You cannot have half pixels so something must happen with those fractional values.
antonkudin
Pattern is at 100%, I'm not stretching anything.
antonkudin
Here's same pattern at 100%, area highlighted is 80x80, size of the pattern image, and fill's handle is in the middle of it. Its visible that the issue is on top and left of the pattern. issue.afphoto
Staff Gabe Posted October 21, 2019 Staff Share Posted October 21, 2019 Sorry. I see what you mean now. Issue logged
antonkudin
Its even worse than I originally thought: if fill is rotated, the pattern issue disappears in the editor (left), but is visible in exported image (right).
