Created brush is blurred

Recommended Posts

maybe you are using a file that is of a small resolution, so if you used a file that was 32px and the brush was 64px the resulting brush would look soft pixelated.

Try these: Christmas Brushes.afbrushes

These are the files I used: Christmasy things.zip

Try viewing them at 100% they should look a bit better but the less pixels size you use the less space there is to resolve the image so they are going to look a bit pixelated/soft/blurry, it's like trying to fit two tins of peaches into one tin, it's going to get mushy :D

When dealing with pixels (raster elements) there is always going to be an issue with pixelation, the only way round this is to use vector files/brushes which Affinity Photo can't do, even Affinity Designer, a vector app cannot do vector brushes yet, why! I have no idea.
