Kevin M
If I create a macro with adjustment layers, I can't get any of the adjustments to open open after the initial time when they are added. I can choose them, add them, rename them, but when I try to open one, after I get the grayed-out box that has a list but nothing active and when I hit cancel, nothing happens. It just sits there. It works if I adjust as when I first add the layer and it works if the macro recording is not on. I've also noticed I can't change brush size and hardness using the mouse as some of the tutorials say. I'm running 1.7.3 on Windows 10 using a trackball. smadell
In my experience, macros don't always play well with child layers. The only way I've been consistently able to work with layers that end up as children of another layer is to i) first create the new layer (pixel, adjustment, filter, etc.) at the "root level" of the layer stack (that is, set your Assistant to add an adjustment as a new layer rather than as a child layer); ii) do what you want with that layer (rename, set parameters, etc); then iii) use the "Move Inside" command to place the layer as a child of the layer directly below it. Sometimes, you can choose a child layer by first choosing the parent layer and then "going inside" the nested layers. But this does not seem to work reliably, and is often the source of immediate crashes when I am writing macros. R C-R
One thing that may help in some macros involving adding adjustment layers is that macros record steps using the Assistant settings in effect when the macro is created & when played back use the same settings even if the current Assistant settings are different. So for example, if the Assistant is set as below, the add adjustment step will add it as a child layer of whatever layer is currently selected in the macro.
