  3. Anybody can post translation suggestion for Japanese UI on this topic.
  4. Getting into Publisher lately I noticed that – like everything else – even the designations/names of the font weights (i.e. "Condensed", "Extended" etc.) are being translated as well when using the German language localisation for the app's UI. This may be well meant but for any designer with a bit of typographic experience this is utterly irritating! By years of daily use of any layout or design application we are so used to the "normal" english designations which – after all – have also been applied to the fonts in the font design software used to generate the font files. Accordingly it does make absolutely NO sense to suddenly find a font weight called "Gedrängt" (or other strange, in daily practice completely unusal designations) in the menu, while you're actually looking for the "Condensed" style you're expecting to see listed in the menu. I really, really urge you to change this behaviour of the Affinity Apps by expressively exempting font weight or styles from the diverse translations of the applications UIs. I'd really like to see my fonts and font weights/styles listed exactly as I see them listed on MyFonts, FontShop or wherever I usually choose to purchase them. Apart from this it makes collecting the actual font files used for a document unnecessarily difficult if the the (translated) names/styles in the font menus don't allow for clear and unmistakeable identification of the corresponding (naturally untranslated) font files. So PLEASE leave the font names and styles as they are (english) – regardless of what localisation is used with the apps ! Apart from that do keep up the great work so far and keep evolving!
  5. Hi, This isn't a bug, just a translation error that I, as a Brazilian user of Affinity Designer, noticed so, please, include the correct word in the next update. In the English translation, under the VIEW menu, you can read SHOW BLEED and SHOW MARGINS commands. But in the Portuguese translation - yes! In Brazil we speak Portuguese, not Spanish! -, under the EXIBIR menu, you can read MOSTRAR MARGENS twice. The correct would be MOSTRAR SANGRIA (for Bleed) and MOSTRAR MARGENS (for Margins). I would really appreciate if the translation team could pay attention to this detail that sometimes makes me choose the wrong option on the menu. Thanks in advance!
  6. Hello, I would like to ask if it is foreseen to translate the Affinity Photo to other languages. I'm especially interested in Czech language. I have no trouble in using English at all but there are older generations of photographers that would love to have the Affinity translated. If there is no plan to do that, is there a simple way for me how can I do that? Thank you for your answer in advance. Jakub
  7. Hello, I like your apps very much. I work professionally in printing industry and I use it daily. I would like to help other people and you aswell, and translate the app. More info I would share with someone from Affinity team. If you're interested please respond.
  8. Someone may be already reported (but I cannot found it). Japanese translation of the 'Bleed' is '裁ち落とし', not 'にじみ'. This translation appearances in the Publisher beta too. Regards
  9. Title explains what I am looking for. When I try to scale something via the selection tool, or try to right click something, there seems to be no input for something more exact for scaling such as units of measurement for X and Y, or typing in a percentile to the original scale. As for Translations, I am looking for the method to translate the image along X or Y while having a wrap around to create patterns. Is this in the plans for the future or have I overlooked some possible options?
  10. Hello Affinity Team! I went through the forum and I found a couple of requests for UI translation to various languages. I personaly support request for polish translation. The list of languages that Adobe supports is quite long. I know it's not possible to provide support for all of them in Affinity (at least not in a reasonable time). Have you ever heard of Crowdin? It's a translation tool which allows community to translate anything. I participated in a couple of projects (many of them with success). Maybe this it the right way to introduce new languages?
  11. Dear Affinity Team Is there any chance for Polish translation of your (our) excellent software? Sincerly yours Olaf from Warsaw, Poland

    Mistranslation in Japanese

Hello, Affinity, thanks for a great app. I bought a license and really enjoy using it. But you mistranslate 'Export Persona' into 'ペルソナをエクスポート.' 'ペルソナをエクスポート' means 'Exporting a persona,' which mistakingly suggest that you can export a certain persona. 'Export Persona' must be translated into '書き出しペルソナ,' which clearly indicates that it is one of the members of Persona functions. I hope that mistake will soon be corrected.
  13. well, I use affinity photo & designer SIMPLIFIED CHINESE version recently I found that when I turned the cursor to the brush window-mode-stabilizer radius size tip, it would show the hint says "选择画笔流量". I dont's know what the translation actually should be, but, it can never be translated as "选择画笔流量", in chinese it means that "choose (or set) the brush flows" NOT ONLY affinity photo has this problem,it effects all parts those have a brush stabilizer usable with affinity designer, too. hope solve this problem as soon as possible at last, I'm sorry to my poor english.

    Wrong translation

Hi affinity team, I'm sorry, my English is not very good. I noticed that there are two same “除外” Both “Exclusion” and “Subtract” seem to be translated as “除外” I think “Subtract” should be translated as “減算” or other words. Regards
  15. Hello everyone, I'd like to ask, how can I help you with Czech translation. I know many guys who would switch to Affinity Photo if it would be in Czech. I can offer my helping hand with translation. I'm native Czech speaker with some experiences in translating applications in the past. Best Regards, Kamil
  16. Hi, I'll write here all the wrong translation that I will found on the two programs! Thanks! Photo: ABILITà "Salva" su file PSD importati - to be - Abilita "Salva" su file PSD importati (In Preference -> General) Seleziona - to be - Selezione (in Photo Persona) up between Livello (Level) and Disposizione (Disposition)) Designer: Seleziona - to be - Selezione (in Photo Persona) up between Livello (Level) and Disposizione (Disposition)) Smarginatura - to be - Pagina al vivo (in Document Setup)
  17. I found that some UI translation for chinese is literal, new guys are hard to understand what these means. and I found that the same things translation, UI is different from HELP document. For example: sponge, the translation in UI is “舔吸”,and in HELP is “海绵”,I think the 2nd is better. One more: vibrance, translation in UI is “振动”,I don’t know what “振动” means, and other most retouching softwares are translated to “自然饱和度”. Could you tell the translation team about this, I trust it can help new guys to learn affinity photo easier. Thank you so much!

    Wrong 'translation'

Hi affinity team, just want to report a wrong German translation of the word "translation" in the "New HDR merge" dialog. I don't think you mean translating the image to a different language here, but rather you mean "verschieben" in the sense of "shift". Found in Affinity Photo 1.5.1.54 Trial. Matthias.
  19. Hi MEB, I experience the following bug in my current project-file: 1. I open my file 2. select 3 objects 3. hit "copy+c" OR use the menu to copy these objects 4. move my view around (to another artboard) as result: the selected 3 objects are squeezed and somewhere in the project file (far away from the original position, outside of their artboard). And because of the fact, that they are symbols, all artboards suffer from this bug. You cannot undo this step - because it is no real step (means: if I close my file, there is no popUp that asks for saving my modifications. MEB, can you give me a link to provide you my project file and a desktop-screening? Cheers, Stefan. Damn ... so many issues with symbols :/
  20. The combobox Location in the dialog window Create Palette From Image isn't translated in German UI.
  21. Since I'm working witht he german version of APW I'm constantly struggeling with asking and answering questions here in the forum in the english language since in many cases I dont't know the proper english menu, tools and panel naming as only the german version is available as a reference. It would be great to have a lookup table to properly translate from foreign language to the original english naming of menue, panels and descriptions of AP. This would prevent a lot of unnecessary work and misunderstanding in the forum. Cheers Timo
  22. Hi, I experienced the following quite often: when I'm zoomed out, to have a good overview of my doc, I move objects as exactly as I can ... and to make it perfect I zoom in and do the rest. If u use the arrows (Shift+arrows) you will notice that it happens regularly that the when you are zoomed in, the first hit on an arrow will the objects not move 1px as expected - it seems that the distance the object moves, would "match" the distance of the former ZoomLevel or something like that. Cheers, Stefan AD_BugTranslationAfterZoom.mov
  23. The description in the constraints panel seems to be fixed in height to two lines – or the German translation is erroneous. It reads “Legen sie fest, wie die Objekte auf Änderungen an ihrem Container”; I suppose the word “reagieren” is missing in the end and it feels like that is because it’s not fitting inside the “constraints” for that text (i. e. it’s wrapping to an invisible third line).
  24. Hello I'm running both Affinity Designer and Photo on a Dutch language OSX. The applications are ofcourse in English but they seem to translate the font styles such as bold, italic, heavy etcetera into Dutch. The problem is that these translations are often not correct. Whenever I select a typeface with more then regular, italic, bold and bold italic styles, the styles are mixed up. For example: If I select the 'licht' style (which means light in Dutch) I get a bold. When I select 'vet' which means bold in Dutch, I get a regular italic, and so on. Is this an Affinity problem or does it happen in the font managing part of OSX? I haven't encountered this problem in other software. Thanks in advance!
  25. Hello This feature was requested by me when discussing a bug, so now I'm requesting it here at the right place. At the moment, when a user has OSX in a non-english language, the OS offers a translation of certain common font styles like bold, italic, regular etc. In a few applications made by Apple such as Numbers or Pages, and also in the Font Book app, these translations are used when selecting fonts from the fontmenu. Most professional design applications however use the original (non-translated) names in the font selection. At this moment, Affinity applications use the translated names, even though the rest of the user interface is English. I personally think the way OSX translates font styles is quite primitive, and I often encounter fonts where half of the styles are translated in Dutch, while the other half are not translated because the typedesigner chose non-traditional names for these styles. Other design-related applications ignore the OSX translations and use the original style names, which is more practical in a professional environment. As long as Affinity doesn't offer application wide translation, I personally think it's better for Affinity to ignore the OSX translations, because we now get a inconsistent user interface with two languages. I'm looking forward to hear how you think about this.
